communication means how to devices can talk in data format means how two devices shares information in a network whether it’s one way or two way.
Communication types?
The main point that divides or differentiate these three modes of transmission is that simplex mode is unidirectional , where the half duplex mode of transmission is bidirectional and it is used by both the devices. On the other side, Full duplex mode of transmission let’s devices to communicate both ways means both devices can send and receive data simultaneously.
Direction of flow of signal between two devices which are connected is defined by transmission mode.
There are three modes of transmission namely: simplex, half duplex, and full duplex.
Simplex mode : –
In simplex communication, that means “one way” communication. In this communication, a device that does data send and if the data is received then only the function of the receive.
In a simplex transmission mode, communication happens only in one direction. Which is between sender and receiver. The receiver can not reply the sender it can only receive the data and sender can only send data.
Simplex mode acts as one way road where traffic travels only in one direction. And no opposition is allowed
For example, monitor only receives the input and keyboard only sends the data to monitor.
That way monitor can not send data to keyboard or keyboard can not receive data.
Half Duplex:-
The communication between two devices happens in both direction but only one at a time.both devices can send and receive data but at a time. Consider half duplex communication as one way road in which traffic is only goes one way at a time.
Full Duplex:-
In this transmission mode, the communication has happens between both devices simultaneously. Both devices can act as sender and receiver at same time . and they can send and receive data at same time.
The full duplex transmission mode is like a two-way road in which traffic can flow in both directions at the same time.
