types of network , how they diffrentiate and what is their use

Network: what are it’s types and uses?

today we talking about what are the types of network and uses we daily tends to use. so here we go….

Network

Types of Network

We can differentiate different types of computer network ‘s design by it’s scope or scale. Generally they all are recognised by ( i mean nearly every type of design ) area network.

1. Personal Area Network (PAN)

So first network is the smallest one , it consists of

  1. Modem
  2. Two computer
  3. Printer
  4. Tablets etc.

And it can be for one person in one place.

These networks are managed by a single person or a small organisation with one device and it is normally found in small offices or businesses

2. Local Area Network (LAN)

Every body has heard this network. They are very normal and common network design one of the most original and one of the simplest types of networks.LANs connects group of devices across short distance it can be within a one area or small society to share information and resources. Enterprises typically manage and maintain LANs.

If one uses a router , LANs can be transformed into WANs

3. Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN)

They have same function as LANs , but they use more wireless network techs like WIFI or LIFI.These types are used for same applications as LANs, but they don’t rely on physical mediums like cables to work

4. Campus Area Network (CAN)

· They covers larger area than LANs, these types are normally seen in big universities, businesses, or offices. They can be used to share data between several building which are close enough to each other

5. Metropolitan Area Network (MAN)

· These networks are typically found in larger area like a town , or a city. They are larger networks than LANs . but also have same elements from both LAN and WAN network.

6. Wide Area Network (WAN)

They are more complex than LANs, they connect larger area like a longer distances. They give a function to share data to other device even when they are like in other city or kilometers away

And the most common example is internet. And it is typically owned by public

7. Storage-Area Network (SAN)

They are typically networks that connects storage devices to multiple servers, they don’t have to rely on LAN or WAN. they are typically accessed from a server where a drive is connected. Unified SANs are the most common example
