Today we have a mission to accomplish solving HackThisSite realist 1 mission. It is a first mission of series of realistic simulation mission . they are designed as real world scenarios which you may encounter in the real world.

This first mission, we are asked to help a friend manipulate the voting website for a battle of bands vote count in his favor.

These mission are for everyone . your experience doesn’t matter here. Hackthissite is free,legal and safe practice ground for aspiring hackers wanting to test their knowledge on something real. We have full permission to exploit servers,and we even get point rewards for it

We get a greeting from a friend requiring our skills , when we start this mission

When we click the link in the message, we see our target site. As always we should start with the inspect source after a short period of exploring the site. After looking through the page source code , we see the part where it says “Raging inferno”

If we see closely at the options menu tags, we will see the value for each one . the value for each one is defined as an attribute. This person used HTM to code the value of the option on the voting form.

Right click band the page and inspect the page source and edit the value of one of the votion options. We use “5”.

Now let’s load up our web page browser and vote on the option which we just modified it . it will trick the server into thinking they have impossibly good average because it received more good rating in one vote.

This brings us to the next mission.
